Clients Speak About The PHILO Project
A video featuring three clients of The PHILO Project
I really don't even know where to start!
From the second we received our grant from The PHILO Project our experience with them was nothing short of fantastic. The planning and filming of our video were absolutely seamless, and the video itself? Surpassed any expectations we had. It has literally been a game changer for our organization.
Gerald is an absolute dream to work with and his vast knowledge and expertise were a tremendous help to us while we prepared for our video and certainly during filming and editing.
If you have the opportunity to work with The PHILO Project, take it. You will not be sorry and you will come out of it with a fabulous video!

Working with Gerald Kolpan and the PHILO Project has made a huge impact on our organization. As a small non-profit organization that works with kids in our Northwest Philadelphia community our resource margin is razor-thin. We know what we do well: we impact the lives of children through the arts. What the PHILO Project does well is come alongside organizations like ours and create something that we could not make on our own: a promotional video perfect for today's web generation with professionalism and a turn-around time that cannot be beat.
Gerald was a delight as he led us through thinking about our message and how to package it in a way that people outside of the organization could see and relate to. Day-of he was able to capture the spirit and energy of our program with minimal distraction. Our post-production consisted of a few back and forth emails before delivery. We are so proud of the final product as it easily captures our spirit and communicates it with authenticity and panache.
As an Executive Director who wears many different hats, time is my most precious resource. Working with the PHILO Project allowed my time to be honored while at the same time promising and delivering a product of excellence.

The PHILO Project has been a game changer for us. There is no way a startup nonprofit like us could ever have afforded a video like the one that we ended up getting. I would say that there's nothing else like The PHILO Project not only in Philadelphia, but that I've heard of anyplace else.
“The video created for Kitchen Cred by PHILO has been one of our most successful tools for creating awareness, engaging volunteers, recruiting board members and telling our story to potential donors.
Each of our board members gets a thumb drive with materials they can use to present KC to their contacts. Board members report that the video is one of the top two tools included. When we table at recruiting or community events, the video is running on a laptop. It tells the KC story powerfully and efficiently.
We also show the video to new or potential volunteers at our quarterly meetings. Every conversation with a potential new agency partner begins with the video. In short, the PHILO video has proven to be a indispensable aid in virtually every relationship.

The Montgomery County Foundation, Inc. is always looking for meaningful ways to support the capacity building of the region’s nonprofit sector. When The PHILO Project came to our attention we decided to invest in the opportunity for two organizations to co-create a promotional video under the superlative creative guidance of Gerald Kolpan.
In both cases, the process was seamless and the outcome was immensely appreciated by all involved. Gerald is an exceptionally talented producer and his moving, inspirational mini-documentaries are an invaluable gift to the nonprofit community and the people they serve.

Our PHILO Project video was just what our organization needed to help us tell our story. There is no way we could ever have afforded a professionally produced video like the one Gerald Kolpan provided on our extremely limited budget,
The entire process was very easy. After a face-to-face meeting, we exchanged several emails prior to production day. That day, Gerald arrived ready to help us bring our story to life and the shooting process was focused. Turnaround of the final product was very quick.
We anticipate using this video to help us create awareness, engage volunteers and tell our story to potential donors for years to come.

There's nothing else in Philadelphia like The PHILO Project. Without this small nonprofit, other nonprofits would never be able to afford to have high quality professional videos created.
Because of The PHILO Project, we're able to reach new audiences, younger audiences, more diverse audiences ...to tell our story in a compelling and exciting manner."

Dear PHILO Project Clients, Friends and Supporters,
Effective May 1, 2019 The PHILO Project will be accepting no new applications.
That’s right. PHILO is shutting down.
The past six years have been great! I’ve enjoyed meeting wonderful, generous people in greater Philadelphia’s small nonprofit community; people who are doing many great things to make our region better - and shooting and editing what I consider to be some pretty good videos.
